-The Hanged Man-

Mmmmm... Sai... Oh how I love to experiment with thee.
The hanged man is one of my favourite tarot cards, and I’ve always associated it with Roy. It can mean a number of things depending on the position that it is flipped over in, here are some meanings (from wiki)[you can see which one you best think suits the picture :3] :
• Sacrifice -> Letting go -> Surrendering -> Passivity
• Suspension ----- Acceptance ----- Renunciation ----- Patience
• New point of view ----- Contemplation ----- Inner harmony
• Conformism ----- No action ----- Waiting ----- Giving up
Because I’ve been doing this on a decent PC for once, it let me zoom in so I could... DETAIL THE LIPS *shock horror* yeah he does look a bit feminine, especially with the dark eye shading and lips. I can’t get the hair the way I want it to go, I still need to figure out on SAI how to make the brush big without making it a really loose brush >< DONT TELL ME, I’ll figure it out, so that’s why the hair looks really loose – or do you prefer it that way compared to the tight hair I used to draw?
I don’t usually do characters lying down like this so doing the pose was a total bitch for me, I kept having to flip the drawing around to work on it, so that’s why it may look a tad awkward.
The background is crazy abstract-ness, more Kandinsky style because I was listening to some crazy music at the time and it really inspired me. (I also have been listening to loads of songs with ‘hanging’ in the lyrics, also possible inspiration?) also if you look in the background I’ve tried to paint Roy a wing xD
Mewww I can’t add my normal watermark on it because I don’t know how to add text on Sai yet T^T It also helped i wasn’t feeling particularly happy when doing the piece, so I’m not sure how it looks, I’m too tired to wait till the morning to look at it with fresh eyes. Many flaws, I’m sure. Anyway opinions as to symbolism and anything else is welcome <3
